Dec 21: Winter Warmers at the Armory
December 21st: Winter Warmers at the Armory
Beat the winter blues on the longest day of the year. Join us at the Astoria Armory on December 21st during the day for warm food, hot drinks, and good company—because nobody should spend the darkest day of winter alone.
Dec 20 + 21: Thriftmas at The Brugh Building
What is Thriftmas? Thriftmas is the practice of planning for the holidays by buying all things - or most - entirely at thrift stores and secondhand shops. It's a growing trend that's transforming how people approach holiday gift-giving, with hashtags like #Thriftmas and #SustainableChristmas racking up millions of views on TikTok and Google searches for "thrifted holiday gifts" up 30% this year. Our AstoriaHarvest version of Thriftmas includes free, no-cost, and no-barrier items for community members in need, so that everyone can experience the magic of holidays and community support without financial barriers. Nov 23: Emergency Heritage Harvest Food Swap
November 23rd: Emergency Heritage Harvest Food Swap
When SNAP benefits get cut right before the holidays, community shows up. Join us at the Astoria Armory on November 23rd for our Emergency Heritage Harvest Food Swap—because nobody in Clatsop County should face an empty table.
Bring what you can grow, make, preserve, or share. Take what you need to feed your family. This is mutual aid in action: neighbors helping neighbors, resources circulating where they're needed most.
We need:
Food donations (home-grown, homemade, store-bought—it all counts)
Volunteer hands for setup, sorting, and distribution
The word spread far and wide
This isn't charity. This is what community looks like when we refuse to let anyone go hungry.
November 23rd at the Astoria Armory. Mark your calendar. Bring a neighbor. Let's take care of each other.
